Sweat stains needn’t be a problem – Many people sweat under their arms during a busy working day – especially in warm weather. This is actually completely natural, but often we find it embarrassing people see it, and many people feel bad about having to hide it. So what can you do to avoid it?
Clothing Wear loose-fitting clothes made from natural fibres or specially formulated fabrics that absorb moisture. Consider using so-called sweat pads that you stick under your arm on the inside of your clothes to soak up moisture. Finally, avoid colours that more easily highlight sweat stains, such as light grey and light blue. Wet stains are usually less visible on white and black clothing.
Foods Avoid onions, garlic and spicy foods. These foods promote sweating and can make it more noticeable.
Eat more sage. Sage regulates sweat naturally. It can be consumed as a herb, sage tea or sage oils. Combined with healthy habits, proper diet and relaxation facilitate the reduction of unpleasant sweating. After a few days of use, you can feel the anti-perspirant effect.
Another old household remedy that might also be worth a try involves dabbing a little malt vinegar under your arms at night. Wash it off again in the morning and then use your normal deodorant or antiperspirant.
Grooming.
Hair under the arms retains sweat and provides the bacteria with more to ‘get their teeth into’. So, another piece of advice to help with sweat and odour is to shave your armpits.
